Beach Roll-Up

To honor the ultimate beach day, today in our Beach Babe summer camp week we made some practical and pretty Beach roll ups.  To bring a little bit of repurposing to the project, I had the girls bring a button down shirt from their parents.  First we took a bath sized towel and cut a corresponding rectangle of fabric.  Ours was 30×54 – so 1.5 yards.  Next we took a square from both the front and back of the shirt and sewed both sides with right sides together.

Getting started

Pin the square to the front of roll up on bottom.  If you leave an opening on the top you can put things on top and use the button section for valuables while you swim.

we used the cuff as a closure.

Finished, it looks like a pack of bon bons.

Practical Goodness

You would of course like on the terry side, but we wanted to show off all our pretty fabric choices.
