I Heart You!

I recently finished two quilts for a client of ours. They are memory quilts made from the clothes from each of her little ones – one each for brother and sister (pictures coming soon…)  As I was coming into the home stretch of finishing them, I realized that the mother did not have anything for herself.  So I whipped up this little baby with the little remnants that were left.

Basically after sewing up the little fabric bits,  I traced a heart on wonder-under (I live and breathe for this stuff and with just 1/2 yard you can make a whole mess of appliques).  I then ironed the heart template on the wrong side of the fabric, cut it out  - then ironed on to the white linen that I had choosen, and voila!

A cute project to memorialize any little favorite bits of clothing you have from a little one – or maybe a way to treasure that shirt of yours that you could never handle chucking.

More Sewing Superstars

This little gem came into our store shortly after her birthday, and after one private lesson she was ready to get going on her first class “pretty Prepster.”  Even though she was in a class with older kids, this little firecracker can sew like it’s nobody’s business!  After her bag, she whipped up this skirt in our Kokka fabric and it is almost as adorable as she is.  I am thinking that I am going to have to copy her fabric choice.  I can totally see wearing that skirt into fall with high gorgeous boots and a little sweater.

Love it!

Here are the other 2 Superstars that were in our “Pretty Prepster” class. I loved working with these girls and even more enjoyed seeing their finished pieces – How cute are they….

Up & Away…

Last week two gorgeous sisters walked in wanting to get crafty.  They picked out their goods, made themselves comfy and set to work… I had been bouncing around the store with other customers so only got a chance to peek in once in a while – I was already in love with the color combinations that Nicole had chosen and particularly smitten with gorgeous of colors of Lily’s bow (kicking myself for not taking a picture – but hope she will bring it back in).
But can you believe how gorgeous that hot ballon creation Nicole made on the moleskine diary!  Excuse the Pun but I was absolutely blown away!!!!!!!!!
